Leslie’s monthly health hack: Simple ways to add movement to your day
As we enjoy the warmer temperatures and the invitation to spend more time outdoors, it’s a natural moment to refresh our routines and reconnect with simple habits that support our well-being. Movement doesn’t have to mean long workouts or structured plans—it can live in the small, intentional moments woven throughout your day. These “health hacks” are some of my favorite ways to gently increase daily movement in a way that feels sustainable, supportive, and realistic.
Simple Ways to Add Movement into Your Day
Here are some of my go-to strategies that I personally use and share with clients:
Take a 10-15 minute walk after meals
Set a timer to stand or move every hour
Walk while taking phone calls
Add light stretching while watching TV at night
Use “movement snacks” (a few squats, lunges, or stretches between tasks)
Start your morning with gentle movement—even 5 minutes makes a difference
Build in small transition moments, like a short walk after your workday ends
These small shifts are often more impactful than you think.
