Trusting the Journey: Embracing Your Word for 2025
Those of you who follow my blog know that this is the time of year when we choose our word or thought for the year. This practice is an act of self-care and a celebration of the possibilities that lie ahead. Many of you have shared reflections on 2024 and your hopes for 2025, both publicly and privately. Let me start by saying thank you. I am deeply grateful that you trust me with your thoughts, hopes, reflections, successes, and challenges. Second, I am truly excited about everything you have shared and all you’ll accomplish in 2025.
This year, my word is TRUST.
• Trust in the process
• Trust in what I feel—not only in my heart but also in my gut.
• Trust others
• Trust myself
• Trust the possibilities of the unknown
• Trust that we all have the potential to be the best version of ourselves.
There is so much power in this simple, five-letter word. Each day, I will carry this word with me. As I set my intentions each morning, TRUST will be a part of that lovely beginning. Just thinking about it fills me with joy.
If you’ve chosen your word or phrase for the year, how will you step into it? How will it inspire you and others? There’s so much collective power in not only selecting our focus but also in sharing it. By sharing, we become an inspiration to others, often in ways we cannot even see.
Consider this for a moment: you are an inspiration to others. By sharing our journeys—our hopes, fears, and dreams—we shine a light that is both contagious and illuminating. Let me share a recent example. A friend messaged me privately to talk about the impact her word of the year for 2024 had on her life. She recounted specific moments and ways she applied it, and it was clear this simple exercise made a difference for her all year long. Her light reflected on me, warming, and inspiring me in return.
Every day, we can choose how we conduct ourselves and live our lives. When we choose to be a light, we not only illuminate the path for others but also reflect that light back onto ourselves. It is a beautiful gift—both to give and to receive.
So, what is your word or phrase for the year? If you have not shared it yet, I would love to hear from you. Leave a comment or send me a private message. Remember, you matter. Self-care is not just about you—it creates ripples in the much larger pond of our collective world. I am sending you love and light!
Now, go out and make some waves!
